Thought Leadership Breakfast Series

The Thought Leadership Breakfast Series provided well-rounded and thought-provoking conversations about complex socioeconomic issues impacting the African American community and the city of Chicago as a whole. The discussions will be held  throughout the Centennial year, by invitation-only, for a select community of community members and thought leaders. If you are interested in reading the 3 reports, please follow the links for access.

Golden Fellowship Dinner/Centennial Edition

On Saturday, November 19, 2016, nearly 1,700 of the region’s most notable corporate, civic and elected leaders gathered at the beautiful Hilton Chicago for the Chicago Urban League’s Golden Fellowship Dinner – Centennial Edition. Honoring the League’s century of service to Chicago’s African American community, this year’s dinner featured a special concert performance by the legendary Diana Ross, awarded the first-even Individual Service Award to Mr. Lester McKeever, and Spencer Leak, Sr. received the reputable Edwin C. “Bill” Berry Civil Rights Award.

Centennial Kick-off Cookout Party in the Park

On Saturday, July 23 from Noon-3:00 pm, we hosted our Centennial Community Kick-off Cookout that offered free hotdogs, hamburgers and door-prizes while they last; along with KidsZone activities, Seniors Lounge, music, and more!

One of the things that sets the Chicago Urban League apart is the many life-changing stories we witness. Who better to share these stories than you? We welcome your story and those of your children, family and ancestors on the work of the League.

Our story doesn’t end there though. It is woven throughout our rich community of League Auxiliary Members, Board of Directors, staff, and community partners.

Our invitation to all of you—please share your piece of CUL100’s multi-dimensional story. Your story matters and we’d love to read all about it!

Need help writing?  Here are some questions to get you started:

What triggered your involvement with the League?
How did the League assist you in following your dreams? Why do you support the League?
